Every year at the end of November, organisations across Europe add their support to European HIV/Hepatitis Testing Week, a campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of testing.
Here in Scotland, in 2016, charities, campaigners, health boards and government representatives with an interest in HIV prevention formed an action group to coordinate the campaign under the banner HIV Testing Week Scotland.
The campaign promotes the variety of testing options available to suit individual needs – from sexual health clinics and GPs to community and home testing.
It also reminds people that HIV can be managed effectively with treatment and encourage the idea that if we are all HIV aware, we can put an end to HIV.
