Prevention of HIV or Hepatitis C

HIV and Hepatitis C are preventable viruses and there are steps you can take to reduce your risk of infection.

At Waverley Care, we work to ensure that accurate and up-to-date information on HIV and Hepatitis C is available to all. We’re able to provide information and support on HIV and Hepatitis C prevention to individuals or to groups. If you’re looking for more information about these conditions, or if you’re looking to make changes to your lifestyle, we can help.

When you contact a member of Waverley Care staff about HIV or Hepatitis C prevention, you can be assured of a warm, respectful and non-judgmental response. We will arrange to meet you or your group to take you through the risks and discuss steps that you can take in order to reduce your chances of becoming infected. If you, or members of your group, want to make further lifestyle changes – for example, around drugs or alcohol use – we can support you to do that as well as suggest other services which you may also find helpful.

If you think you’ve been at risk of contracting HIV and/or Hepatitis C, we would recommend you take a test. We provide testing services but can also recommend other clinics or services where you can take a test.

If you’re not sure which service to contact, please get in touch with your nearest office.
