At Waverley Care, we recognise that talking about spirituality and faith can be an important part of looking after your physical, mental and emotional health.
If you are living with HIV or Hepatitis C, you may have questions about faith and health or about the impact of religion on you, whether you have a religious belief system or not. Whatever your thoughts or questions, we can offer a safe space where you can talk, free from judgement.
We can help you to think about issues around faith and spirituality and, if required, help you to access further information and support.
Across Scotland, we also work with faith communities and their leaders on issues relating to HIV or Hepatitis C. In particular our work focuses on preventing stigma and discrimination and encouraging people to recognise the value of early testing for HIV or Hepatitis C and accessing treatment. We can also provide assistance to faith leaders who are supporting members of their communities who are living with HIV or Hepatitis C.
HIV Remembrance Quilt
As part of our bereavement support we look after a remembrance quilt. The quilt is maintained by Waverley Care and forms a permanent memorial. It is based around a tree design and each leaf of the tree has the name of an individual who has died from an HIV related illness. If you would like to make a leaf for a loved one please get in touch.
