Carol Competition - Short List Announced

We are delighted to announce the short-listed carols in our Sing a New Song Christmas carol writing competition. We had a very high number of entries (129 in total) and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who entered!

Our thanks go to Jenny Sumerling and Tom Cunningham, who drew up our initial short-list of 18 carols and to Bob Chilcott, James MacMillan and Simon Woods, who selected the final six.

The final six carols are:

Congratulations to all the above composers, who were selected from a strong field of candidates!

The final six carols can be heard in a concert on Saturday 27th November at 7.30 pm at St Cuthbert’s Church, Lothian Road, Edinburgh, at which the winner and runner-up will be announced. We will also present the Caledonian Hilton Audience Prize to the composer whose carol is selected by the audience on the night.
