Volunteering makes a positive difference
14 Oct 10Recently a large group of volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group spent two days doing some much needed decorating at our respite centre Milestone.
Aimee, who took part in the working group, wrote an article to let her colleagues know what the group had been up to. She has kindly let us add the article to our blog so that we can show off all their hard work. You can read the article and see all the pictures here.
The teams were set the challenge of painting a living room, five bedrooms with ensuites and stripping the paper from a hallway over the course of the two days. It was a lot of hard work but everyone had fun and the end result looked great.
"We did wonder after day one if we were going to be invited back after setting the fire alarm off with the wall paper steamer, meaning the Fire Brigade had to be dispatched!" - Aimee
"The time you have taken to help Milestone has meant the world to us; this will make such a difference to the staff and patients" - John, Waverley Care Milestone
