Welcome to our new Director Grant Sugden

21 Nov 11

Waverley Care is delighted to welcome our new Director Grant Sugden who joins us today.

Grant joins us from the Scottish children and families charity, Circle, where he held the role of Operational Manager. At Circle, Grant was responsible for managing a range of services including early years work and support to children and families affected by parental substance use and and/or parental imprisonment. Many of those Grant worked with were living with or affected by HIV or Hepatitis C and he has had a strong interest in the sector for many years.

Grant graduated with an M.A. in Economics and Politics from the University of Edinburgh in 1993 and then qualified in Social Work from the University of Southampton in 1996. Grant has worked throughout his professional career in children and family services, as a social worker and team leader in local authority social work services before joining Circle in 2004. Grant also has experience both professionally and on a voluntary basis of supporting children and adults affected by disability. While working for Circle, Grant studied for an MBA, graduating with distinction from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2010.

Grant will be working alongside our outgoing Director, David Johnson, for 2 weeks to ensure an effective handover of responsibilities.  We hope you will join us in wishing Grant all the best in his new role with us.
