Gay Men's Project Worker (Inverness)

Salary: £23,232 - £25,716 (Pro-rata)

The Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003, section 7, apply to this post.

Key Purpose:

• To provide outreach in public sex environments where men have sex with men to promote safer sexual behaviour.
• To promote HIV awareness and safer sex to at risk communities, especially men who have sex with men, by providing education and access to safer sex materials.
• To increase awareness of the need for HIV testing in at risk communities by supporting them to take responsibility for their own and other’s sexual health.

Candidates should have a good understanding of issues for people living with HIV, men who have sex with men and experience of working in the voluntary sector in a paid or unpaid basis. Preference will be given to Gay men although anyone with relevant experience may apply.
