HIV conference comes to Scotland

This week, the great and the good of the HIV and sexual health worlds are descending on the EICC in Edinburgh for a national conference.

Organised by the British HIV Association (BHIVA) and British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH), the conference offers the chance to learn about the latest research in these fields, and to share best practice with colleagues across the UK.

With the conference coming to Edinburgh, it is a fantastic opportunity for Waverley Care to highlight the work we are doing across Scotland, and we’re particularly proud to be showcasing three of our projects to delegates through poster presentations.

First up, we’re highlighting our African Health in Faith initiative, which is working with faith communities and leaders across Scotland to increase access to HIV information, testing and support.

Next up comes Caring Conversations, our free, online learning resource, which encourages healthcare staff to think about how the conversations they have can leave patients feeling better heard and better supported.

Finally, we look at Wave, our sexual health education programme for young people in Highland, and specifically the findings of our survey involving 1,195 young people which informed its development.

You can check out our posters to learn more about each of these projects using the links above.
