Strategic Plan launched

We are delighted to officially launch our new Strategic Plan for 2017-2020.

The new plan, which has been developed in consultation with our staff, sets out our purpose as a charity, highlights examples of our work across Scotland, and identifies our priorities for the years ahead.

The development of the plan allowed us the opportunity to reflect on all of the progress that has been made since Waverley Care’s formation in 1989. However, it has also focused minds on the challenges that remain.

While improved treatments mean that HIV can be well-managed and Hepatitis C cured, the need for our services is as great as ever. We know that HIV and Hepatitis C continue to disproportionately affect some of Scotland’s most marginalised communities, often driven by ignorance about what it means to live with the conditions.

The actions identified in the plan will allow us to continue to challenge this stigma, and the health inequalities that vulnerable groups face, in order to reduce new HIV and Hepatitis C infections, encourage people to get tested, and provide much needed support.

In the years ahead, it is our ambition to build on the progress that has been made, to expand existing services and to identify new opportunities to drive HIV and Hepatitis C prevention and support.

It is an exciting time to be involved in this work and we will continue to work with our service users, volunteers, partners, supporters and staff to move forward.
