My role was a newly created role with a remit to expand our events portfolio – which really appealed to me! I wanted the chance to create fun new events that enable people to give to a fantastic charity.
I studied Event Management (handy!) at university, before working for a number of years as a freelance event manager, primarily on corporate events. I then took up a role as fundraising Challenge Events Manager at a Hospice before moving to Waverley Care.
I haven’t been here long, but I like the atmosphere around the place. There is a lot of positivity and laughter around the offices. There’s a good relationship between staff and volunteers too and it’s great to see such a variety of people giving up their time to help us do what we do!
I ski, play video games, watch sports, sometimes play sports, read, cook and follow the mighty Morecambe FC (up the Shrimps!)
I don’t really buy in to inspirational figures! Certainly no one on Instagram… I admire some people for what they’ve achieved, such as Richard Branson; people for changing the system, such as Nelson Mandela; and some people for just being awesome, like my Grandad! But no one really inspires me to do anything, I motivate myself to do it.
