Volunteers play a key role at Waverley Care, supporting our work and allowing us to offer the wide range of services that we do.
More than 100 people give their time to help us with everything from supporting service users and raising money to stuffing envelopes and manning the phones.
Our volunteers all have stories to tell of why they want to support Waverley Care and the skills they offer us are as diverse as the activities they participate in. Each volunteer is different, but all are enthusiastic and non-judgemental. They include a retired headmaster, a nurse and hypnotherapist, asylum seekers and people who’ve been out of work and want to rebuild their confidence.
Below are some of the generous people who donate their time and skills to make a positive difference and help all those Waverley Care works with.
“Sometimes stigma and discrimination comes from the places you’d least expect it but, then again, so does the help.”
"I can take off the face I wear for the outside world and just be myself."
