Alexander McCall Smith visits Milestone

Earlier this month we were delighted to welcome Waverley Care Patron, Alexander McCall Smith, to our Milestone Residential and Outreach Support Centre.

The internationally renowned author, famous for works including the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series of novels, has been a Patron of Waverley Care for many years.

During the visit, Alexander had the chance to speak to our staff and volunteers about their work before a tour round the centre which was fully refurbished in 2014. The service provides intensive support for people living with HIV or Hepatitis C, addressing their physical, emotional and mental health needs.

Our Patrons are drawn from a range of fields including journalism, business, theatre, music and literature. They voluntarily give their time to support our work and raise our profile.
