Board changes approved

The latest meeting of Waverley Care’s Board saw some changes to the team as two members swapped roles and another stepped down.

We are delighted to announce that existing Board member, Ian Arnot (pictured above), has been appointed as our new Chair. Ian, who currently manages press and corporate affairs for BT in Scotland,  joined the Board in August 2014 and previously supported the organisation as a volunteer fundraiser. We are looking forward to working closely with Ian to continue to move the organisation forward.

Ian takes on his new role from Ann Park, who joined the Board in 2013 and has been Chair since November 2014. Another long-term supporter of Waverley Care, Ann has been involved in a number of fundraising initiatives over the years and has balanced her Board commitments with her role as Head of Commercial Operations at Heart of Midlothian Football Club. Ann has done a tremendous job as Chair and we are delighted that she will continue to serve on the Board as an ordinary member.

The final board change agreed at the meeting saw Brian West stand down as a member. Brian, who has been living with HIV for over 30 years, is a well known figure in the HIV sector across Europe. As an activist, he has championed education to support people living with long term conditions. He has brought considerable knowledge about the experiences of people living to HIV to his work on the Board and we wish him well in future.

The Board is responsible for the overall running of Waverley Care, providing direction and guidance to make sure that our work remains consistent with our charitable aims. Our Board members bring a wealth of experience to their roles and we are looking forward to working with them as we move forward.
