Come & Sing with Bob Chilcott

Our first big fundraising event of 2017 brought singers from across Scotland together for a Come & Sing workshop this month.

270 singers joined us in St Cuthbert’s Church, Edinburgh, for a day of singing with the world renowned choral composer and conductor, Bob Chilcott.

Bob, who is a patron of Waverley Care, brought his trademark enthusiasm to the event, taking the assembled singers through some of his most popular works. This was followed by an informal performance which included additional pieces performed by the Edinburgh University Singers, conducted by John Kitchen. The event was a part of the Edinburgh Student Arts Festival.

It is the seventh time that Bob has led a Come & Sing for Waverley Care and, as one of the worlds most performed composers of choral music, his events are always popular with our singers.

The event managed to raise an incredible £4,500 to support our work making a positive difference to the lives of people living with HIV or Hepatitis C.

For people interested in singing, our Come & Sings are a great opportunity to learn under the guidance of tremendous composing and conducting talent.

Future events include a Come & Sing day with the inspirational John Rutter on Saturday 14 October in Edinburgh, which will be on sale soon.  Keep an eye on our events page for updates on this and other events in the coming months.
