Fringe Festival Madness

It’s all go in the Waverley Care fundraising team at the moment as the Edinburgh Festivals have rolled into town.

Our happy band of bucketshakers have been busy at the Pleasance Courtyard collecting donations and over £10,000 has been raised so far. Look out for the lads and lassies in green T-shirts if you’re off to see a show.

We had a fabulous night of comedy at the Off the Kerb Comedy Gala at Edinburgh Playhouse on Sunday night. Marcus Brigstocke and Adam Hills hosted a fabulous line-up of comedians all raising money for Waverley Care.  More comedy tapas is on the way tonight with the Pleasance’s Tartan Ribbon Comedy Benefit. Stuart Goldsmith will host Hal Cruttenden, Katherine Ryan, The Boy with Tape on his Face and a host of other top comedians.  Final tickets available at www.pleasance.co.uk

Improv show Austentatious swapped breeches for bonnets to raise funds for us in the hilarious Crosstentatious performed last night at Underbelly. Uncompromising Artistry are also raising money by performing the fabulous musical Rent throughout August at Paradise in Augustines. Tickets available here.

Other festival goings on still to come include Fresh Fringe’s 24 hour Radio Show on Thursday 20th (Sponsor them here),  Loud & Proud Choir performing on Saturday 22nd and The Big Hymn Sing on Sunday 23rd.

We’re looking forward to a lie down in September – phew!  Coffee anyone?!?
