Glasgow glams up for pamper day

MAC Artists Sophie (L) and Emma (R) meet Waverley Care outreach worker, Margaret

Earlier this month, cosmetics replaced computers in our Glasgow office as we opened our doors for a pamper day.

Service users from our African Health Project were invited along for free treatments courtesy of Emma and Sophie from MAC Cosmetics in Glasgow.

We have a great relationship with MAC and volunteers from local stores regularly volunteer with us doing everything from pamper days to bucket shaking. We have also benefited from the MAC AIDS Fund which diverts all proceeds from the Viva Glam range to HIV projects around the world.

With lipstick, eye shadow and powder applied, everyone joined together to catch up over lunch. Our very own Mariegold, prepared an amazing meal of chicken, plantain and chilli rice.

All too often, the challenges of living with HIV mean that people can become isolated which can lead to poor mental health. Events like the pamper day are an important part of challenging this, encouraging people to socialise and ultimately supporting stronger emotional and mental health.

Our thanks go out to Emma and Sophie at MAC for supporting the event.
