Icon Awards 2015

On Friday night we were in Glasgow as the beneficiary charity of the Icon Awards.  The glittering awards ceremony was a celebration of Scotland’s LGBTI community.

Through the various auctions and prize draws on the night we raised around £8,500 for our work across Scotland. This is a fabulous total that will help us to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with HIV or Hepatitis C.

We are incredibly grateful to the many individuals and organisations (listed below) who contributed fantastic prizes for the fundraising elements of the event.  We are also grateful for the generosity of the 500 guests.

The event was, of course, about the awards themselves and we were pleased to nominate our long-term supporter, Jimmy Quinn, for a Special Recognition Award, which was presented to him by Derek Ogg QC. Jimmy  has been a passionate supporter of Waverley Care through the years and he continues to offer his personal support and expertise in the healthcare sector to assist us to develop and improve.

We would like to thank event organisers, Paramount Events, for choosing Waverley Care as their beneficiary charity and, last but not least, congratulations to all the winners on the night!

We are grateful to the following organisations and individuals for their generosity and support:
