Latest graduates from parenting programme

The latest group to take part in our Positive Parenting Programme complete the course.

Earlier this week, the latest group of parents to take part in our Positive Parenting Programme, completed their training.

Open to all parents from African communities in Glasgow, the programme covers common concerns faced by all parents, alongside issues around culture.

Through the programme, parents are given the confidence to understand and manage their children’s behaviour, prevent problems developing and build strong, healthy relationships.

We had some great feedback from the parents taking part this time around. One parent said that the course had already made a huge difference – “I see my children are so happy and I can relate with them”.

While the focus of our African Health Project is around HIV prevention and sexual health, we are in a unique position to listen to the whole range of challenges faced by African communities in Scotland and to provide practical support. The Positive Parenting Programme is a great example of that process in action.
