Milestone inspection underlines quality

There was a surprise visit to Milestone at the end of January as the Care Inspectorate arrived for an unannounced inspection.

As one of three services we have registered with the Care Inspectorate, our residential service at Milestone is regularly inspected to make sure that we are delivering the highest quality support to our service users. The other registered services are Milestone Outreach and the Children & Families Project.

We were delighted with the feedback from the inspection, achieving top marks in relation to the quality of care we provide. There was also praise for our staff and our commitment to continuing improvement.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the report is that the inspectors comments reflect the standards we set for ourselves. For example, the inspectors noted the strong culture of service user participation which we have sought to encourage through our service user involvement groups.

Inspections are a great way for us to measure our progress and we’ll continue to work with service users, staff and volunteers to find ways to continue to improve across all of our services.
