Are you living with HIV in Scotland, or accessing HIV prevention such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)? We want to hear your views on the challenges and priorities for improving HIV care and prevention in Scotland.

Your insights will help us influence the next Scottish Government to commit to improving the lives of people living with HIV and widening access to HIV prevention.

As a thank you for taking part, one person will be randomly selected to receive a £50 LoveToShop voucher for completing the survey.

Complete the survey

This survey is for adults (18 and over) in Scotland who are living with HIV or who have accessed HIV prevention (such as PrEP) in the last two years.

It asks about challenges, stigma and priorities for improvement in HIV in Scotland.

This survey takes around 20-30 minutes to complete.

This survey is anonymous. Waverley Care will use the findings of this survey to develop recommendations on the changes needed to improve the lives of people living with or affected by HIV. We will influence the Scottish Government to implement our recommendations.

The information you share will be processed in line with our privacy policy. We will keep the survey responses for up to six months to complete our analysis. After that, they will be securely deleted.

You can complete the survey online via Microsoft Forms

If you would prefer to complete a Word Document version of the survey, please contact Alice Clarkson, Senior Policy and Communications Officer at alice.clarkson@waverleycare.org

Making change happen in Scotland

The Scottish Government has plans for improving HIV care and prevention in Scotland, but these plans end in 2026.

We are calling for the next Scottish Government to commit to renewing their plans and going further, faster. As a charity, we need to make sure that the new plans reflect the experiences and priorities of people living with HIV and those who need access to HIV prevention.

Support for you

This survey touches on personal and potentially sensitive topics. If you’d like some support, we can connect you with someone who is also living with HIV to talk to and get support. Please visit the peer support section of our website for more information.

Our community event

We will also be holding a community event on Tuesday 2 June in Edinburgh to explore and agree on the changes needed in Scotland to ensure people living with HIV can live well and that HIV prevention is easy to access for everyone.

To find out more about this event and sign up to attend, please contact Alice Clarkson, our Senior Policy and Communications Officer at alice.clarkson@waverleycare.org
