HIV Support in Highland

Waverley Care was first established in 1989, with our Highland support services in place since 2010. With over 30 years supporting people living with HIV, we know that having your HIV status disclosed without your consent or knowledge can be a distressing experience, and may impact your mental health.

On Monday 17th June, we were made aware that a breach in confidentiality has taken place in NHS Highland, involving HIV patients.

In light of this information, we want to make sure anyone in Highland affected by the breach knows what support is available to them locally and, how to access it.

What Support Can I Get in Highland?

If you are living anywhere in the Highlands, you can get one to one support on a range of issues in a safe, confidential environment with our Highland support services. Our office is located at 6 Ardross St. Inverness, IV3 5NN, where our experienced team will help you work through any distress or anxiety you may be feeling about HIV while giving you the most up to date advice and information available.

Our Highland support services are available to anyone living with HIV, over the age of 16.

How Do I Get Support?

If you have any concerns or would like to know more about the support available to you in your local area, you can call us on 01436 711 585 or email us at highland@waverleycare.org. You do not need to be referred by your GP or other medical practitioners as all of our services are open to self-referrals. If you’re unsure what to do, call our experienced team who will help talk you through things.

“We want to reassure anyone living with HIV in Highland that we’re here to support you in whatever way you need. Even if you just need to talk things through once, pick up the phone and we’ll be there.” – Rachel Hughes, Highland Senior Manager

Please note: Waverley Care (Scottish Charity No. SC036500) have a range of privacy policies that ensure your confidentiality is safeguarded.
