Open day showcases volunteering

Our Glasgow office opened its doors to the public this week to highlight volunteering opportunities across the organisation.

The open day offered the chance for people to find out more about our work, about the volunteering roles we offer and about the benefits of volunteering to both service users and those who give their time.

We were joined on the day by a group of our current volunteers who were able to answer questions and share their experiences of being involved in our work.

Volunteers play a key role at Waverley Care, helping us to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with or affected by HIV or Hepatitis C. There are lots of ways you can get involved, from befriending and helping at our support groups to office administration and fundraising.

Alongside the clear benefits to our service users, we want volunteering to be a rewarding experience for those who donate their time, helping them develop and learn new skills that will help them in their lives . As part of our volunteering programme, we offer ongoing support from staff to identify areas of interest and opportunities to take part in training.

We are always on the lookout for open-minded, enthusiastic and committed people to volunteer with us and support our work. If you are interested in joining us, visit the volunteering section of the website to find out more.
