Outreach Event with Govan Community Projects

Team members Margaret and Jerusalem from our African Health and FMG projects, were out delivering outreach work earlier this month, at a lunchtime event with the Moss Heights men’s group at Govan Community Projects.

The event aimed to raise awareness of our work, while providing a fantastic opportunity to get community members talking about their sexual health, challenging stigma around HIV and involving them in discussions about preventing FGM.

When reflecting on the day, the team felt the event was particularly successful as the men’s group left feeling motivated to take the information they had learned back to their communities, helping embed our work to reduce new HIV infections and prevent FGM practices, within their own lives.

Margaret and Jerusalem will be joining Govan Community Projects again this coming Friday 12th October 2018, in another outreach event raising awareness about our work.

“It is up to us to help any child, any community, affected by these issues.”
