SAMM Report published

Earlier this week we released the final report from a project looking at the experiences of Scotland African men who have sex with men (MSM).

The SAMM Report explores the attitudes in African communities towards MSM, including in particular the day-to-day experiences of individual African MSM both in their home countries and living in Scotland.

With African MSM communities being disproportionately affected by HIV, the report will help inform future research and action to ensure that health interventions related to HIV are relevant to this group. The report will also help inform the work of our African Health Project which works closely with African communities in Scotland.

The SAMM project was carried out in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University with funding from NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, NHS Lothian and The Big Lottery Fund.  We are grateful to all of the individuals from these organisations who were involved in producing the report and to the individuals who shared their experiences.
