Teaming up with the Nevis Ensemble

Some of our staff and service users got out in the sunshine this week, as our Glasgow office played unlikely host of a 40-piece orchestra.

We welcomed the Nevis Ensemble, a group whose mission is ‘music for everyone, everywhere’, to our Queens Crescent garden as part of a 70-show tour to tie in with the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

In an hour of orchestral magic, there was something for everyone – from moving classical pieces, to a lively rendition of ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ and a sing-along to ‘Dancing Queen’! Check out the video below to see them in action!

The musicians in the Nevis Ensemble want to remove barriers to orchestral music, making sure people can enjoy it in their local community. They work closely with charities across Scotland to ensure that vulnerable and marginalised people don’t miss out.

Without performances like this, many of the people we work with simply wouldn’t have access to this type of music, and the positive impact it can have on health and wellbeing, so we were delighted to link up with the Nevis Ensemble.

If you’d like to catch the group, they have a few more dates on their inaugural tour. For more information on the group and their upcoming performances, visit nevisensemble.org.
