The Big Corporate Shake-Up is here!

Today we’re excited to launch a new corporate team challenge – The Big Corporate Shake-up!

The event challenges teams from companies across Edinburgh to compete against each other to raise funds during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Teams will shake buckets and collect donations from thousands of festival-goers at the Pleasance Courtyard, with every penny supporting people affected by HIV and Hepatitis C in Scotland.

The event, which will run from 12-18 August 2019, will see teams of six people competing to win the coveted shake-up trophy for their company along with a mystery Fringe-related prize.

How your support will help

Jack got in contact with us when he was first diagnosed HIV positive. He was living in a rural area and didn’t know who he could talk to about the diagnosis. There was so much to take in – how would he take his medication every day? With a three hour journey to the hospital, how could he afford to get to his appointments with the HIV consultant? Jack felt isolated and overwhelmed – he didn’t know what to do other than reach out for help.

Once Jack reached out to us at Waverley Care, we were there to talk him through the diagnosis and be the listening ear he needed. We made sure he could get to his hospital appointments and helped him put a plan in place for taking HIV medication every day. Jack has now come to terms with the diagnosis, takes his HIV medication every day and feels part of a community again. By getting involved in the Corporate Shake-up, you’re helping us support people like Jack to move from just surviving to thriving in life.
