Volunteers join the Glasgow team

Our Glasgow office welcomed some new faces to Waverley Care last month as the latest group of volunteers joined the team.

The group of 10 volunteers took part in a two day induction course covering aspects of our work including HIV and Hepatitis C stigma and attitudes, and respecting service user confidentiality and boundaries.

They will now go on to support our work in a variety of roles from delivering group work and outreach support to office administration.

Volunteers play a key role at Waverley Care, helping us to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with or affected by HIV or Hepatitis C. Alongside the clear benefits to our service users, we want volunteering to be a rewarding experience for those who donate their time, helping them develop and learn new skills that will help them in their lives . As part of our volunteering programme, we offer ongoing support from staff to identify areas of interest and opportunities to take part in training.

We are always on the lookout for open-minded, enthusiastic and committed people to volunteer with us and support our work. If you are interested in finding out more, visit www.waverleycare.org/volunteer to get in touch.
