Why did you choose to work for Waverley Care?

When I first moved to Edinburgh just before the birth of my daughter I was working flexibly and seen that Milestone were hiring. I had worked with one individual in the community with HIV and and felt this would be of similar skill set with the added bonus of learning new skills.

Tell us about life before Waverley Care.

I trained as a psychiatric nurse way back in the day but still maintain my registration. I worked in acute areas as well as drugs and alcohol and sexual abuse. The job I had prior to coming to Edinburgh was a CPN and loved this job, its diversity and connection with the people who used the service.

What do you most enjoy about working with Waverley Care?

I particularly enjoy assessments, being the first contact with the service, exploring the needs of the individual and ensuring the service can be relatable and professional.

What do you do in your spare time?

I read a lot, crime mostly! I have a gym membership and never go!! Love eating out and spending time with friends and family.

Who inspires you?

Got to be Maslow, his theory works for me. I also feel very humbled by the people I meet on a daily basis their strength despite adversity.
