Meet our Fundraising Assistant (Events)

Published:

Last month, we welcomed Bella Henricks to our team as temporary Fundraising Assistant (Events).

In this role, she will work across all areas of fundraising, with a focus on events such as the Fringe and our partnership with the Pleasance, sponsored challenges and bucket collections, and recruiting and supporting volunteers.

We interviewed Bella to learn more about her, and about what she’ll bring to the role.

Q: Why did you apply to be Fundraising Assistant at Waverley Care?
A: I’ve always been passionate about reproductive and sexual health. I wanted the opportunity to work for a Scottish organisation that promoted inclusion and broke down stigma around important sexual health issues. Having volunteered with Waverley Care in the past, the position of Fundraising Assistant seemed perfect in terms of combining my passions and experience.

Q: What are you most excited to work on?
A: I’m super keen to get as many people as possible involved in Fringe volunteering. I’m hoping to promote Waverley Care’s events throughout Scotland so that our outreach reflects our national outlook.

Q: What hobbies do you have outside of work?
A: In my spare time I enjoy imposing my love of ABBA on my family, friends, and colleagues. I will also say yes to any holiday I am invited on.

Q: How can you be contacted?
A: Get in touch with me by email at bella.henricks@waverleycare.org
