This report describes the findings of participatory action research project exploring the sexual health needs of Men who have Sex with Men in remote and rural Scotland

Informing the research described in this report, we commissioned a bespoke analysis of data from SMMASH3 in 2020. SMMASH3 is a national bio-behavioural survey carried out with men who have sex with men by Glasgow Caledonian University. The analysis provided insight to the sexual behaviours and risks experienced by men who have sex with men living in remote and rural areas of Scotland, namely Forth Valley, Highland, Argyll & Bute, Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland.
