Since 1992, our partnership with The Pleasance has raised £639,155 to support people living with HIV in Scotland.
Our partnership
In 1992, a group of “waifs and strays with buckets” asked the founder of The Pleasance Theatre Trust, Christopher Richardson, for donations to Waverley Care. He believed that our mission needed the support of The Pleasance – support which has continued ever since.
We are proud to celebrate over thirty years of partnership with The Pleasance and are grateful for their ongoing support.

Grant Sugden, Waverley Care Chief ExecutiveThe relationship with The Pleasance has been incredibly important in allowing us to talk about HIV.
Bucket shaking
In 2019, Waverley Care raised £45,172 from bucket shaking alone at The Pleasance’s incredible venues. This year, we could raise over £50,000 but we need your help.
To help us get to zero HIV transmissions by 2030, and to support those living with HIV, you can volunteer with us at The Pleasance or donate to Waverley Care at Pleasance venues across Edinburgh.
